Customer settings (GoCardless for Xero)
This article will cover two options that impact your customers' experience when setting up their Direct Debit prior to you being able to collect funds from them.

1. Editing the authorisation request email
- Open the Settings page
- Navigate to the Email settings section
- Edit the Email subject and Email message text
- Click Save changes
In the email template field, you can set personalised parameters to be replaced on each customers email with their personal information. Below is a list of parameters that can be used:

2. Adding a 'Pay now' button to invoices
Invoices sent from Xero often include a link to view and pay the invoice online. You can add this feature to invoices with GoCardless for Xero, so that customers can pay you via the GoCardless payment methods you’ve set up. The ‘Pay online’ option is enabled on a per branding theme basis. When you enable this, all invoices associated with this branding theme will have a ‘Pay Now’ button.
Enable the ‘Pay now’ button on invoices
- Open the Settings page
- Navigate to the Payment methods section
- Toggle the Pay now button on for your chosen branding theme
- Click Save changes
