Payment methods
GoCardless enables you to collect both recurring and one-off payments directly from your customers’ bank accounts.
These are the processing methods you can use to collect payments from customers (payers) using GoCardless.

Bank debit |
A pull-based payment method operating through national - or, in the case of the Eurozone, regional - payment schemes. Customers must provide authorisation for a business or organisation to collect payments from their account before any payment requests can be processed. |

Instant Bank Pay |
Designed to complement bank debit using open banking, these bank-to-bank payments are collected and confirmed instantly upon your customer providing their details, and a bank debit authorisation is set up in the process. (This service is currently available for all merchants based in the UK, US, Canada, EEA, Australia, and New Zealand who are collecting GBP payments from customers in the UK.) |
