- Why do you need my personal details (name, date of birth etc) if I'm using you for my business?
- My bank account only shows my trading name rather than my personal name. How can I verify my bank account?
- I've given you my personal details. Why do you need ID and proof of address too?
If you're operating as a sole trader, we're required to verify your identity. We do this by collecting your name, date of birth and residential address.
My bank account only shows my trading name rather than my personal name. How can I verify my bank account?
It is not a problem if your account only shows your trading name - you may receive an email from our account verification team that requests your confirmation of a few further details once you have uploaded your bank statement.
Please respond to this email and we will finalise the bank account verification process.
We always attempt to verify your identity electronically using the details you enter (your name, residential address and date of birth).
However, if this check doesn't pass automatically, we need to collect supporting documents from you to prove your identity - ID and a proof of address document.
