The following payment timings are dependent on the below 2 actions being completed by 4pm UK time on any working day. If either action is completed after this time, there will be an additional day in the process.
- The payer has completed an authorisation form to set up a mandate, also known as a Direct Debit Instruction. A mandate authorises a merchant to take Direct Debit payments from the payer via Bacs, the local DD payment scheme.
- GoCardless has received an instruction to create a payment
Please note: If a payment is created on a weekend or bank holiday, the process will begin on the next working day.
It takes 5-6 working days for merchants to receive funds, depending on whether or not the payer already has an active Direct Debit mandate.
