Mollie to acquire GoCardless - Customer FAQs
What’s the news?
Mollie, one of Europe’s fastest-growing financial service providers, has announced an agreement to acquire GoCardless.
The acquisition unites two highly complementary platforms. GoCardless customers gain access to Mollie's strong local and card payments, whilst Mollie customers benefit from GoCardless's expertise in account-to-account payments, including open banking and a global direct debit network covering 38 countries. Together, we can serve a wider range of customers, in more markets, and continue to support them as you scale.
The deal is expected to close mid-2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
What will this mean for existing GoCardless customers?
There are no immediate changes for GoCardless customers. It’s business as usual with the same products, service and GoCardless contacts you know, and there is no action for you to take.
In the future, you’ll get access to a broader, more powerful payment offering all in one platform -- covering cards, local payment methods, open banking and more.
We’ll share updates as the integration progresses and new benefits become available. In the meantime, thank you for your continued trust in GoCardless.
