Is the statement balance in the interim reconciliation (Direct Debit account) account going up and up?
Provided that all transactions in the account are reconciled and there are no Direct Debit payments processing at that moment, the Statement balance and Xero balance should both the £0.00. If you have noticed the statement balance slowly climbing up this may be because the last step of the reconciliation process is being skipped.
The only part of the reconciliation process that we cannot yet automate, is the final reconciliation of the transfer out of the Direct Debit account. When viewing the Direct Debit Account Transactions page, you will see the transfer as unreconciled.

In order to reconcile this, you must click on the Bank transfer, and then click Options (top right of the transaction details) and then choose Mark as Reconciled
