Forgotten password

In this article you'll learn how to reset your password if you've forgotten your current one and can't access your dashboard.

How to reset your password

  1. Click here to access the page where you can request a new password reset link. You can also navigate to the same page by clicking Forgotten password? in the main login window found here.

  2. In the password reset link request window, enter the email address registered to your GoCardless account and click Send password reset.

  3. Check your email inbox. You should find an email containing a link to reset your password. Follow this link to complete the process.

Frequently asked questions

I requested a password reset link but it hasn't arrived.

If your password reset link has not arrived after an hour please get in touch with our support team so we can look into this further for you.

The most likely causes of this are that we are either sending out a significantly large number of emails at this particular time which has created a bit of a backlog, or alternatively we have a different email address registered in our system to the one you have entered when requesting your password reset link.

My password reset link is returning an error

The most likely reason that you’re receiving an error message is that Forgotten password? was clicked more than once and you have opened an email from an earlier request (or click) rather than the most recent. If you were to request the reset link twice for example, the second email you receive would be the one you’d need to use to reset your password. The password token linked to the first email would be invalidated by the more recent one.

Alternatively, please check that the URL you are requesting the password reset from is the same as the URL for your dashboard i.e. if you're using our new dashboard you would need to request a reset link via https://manage.gocardless.com. If you're still using our previous dashboard the URL would be https://dashboard.gocardless.com. If you're requesting the reset link via the wrong URL you will not be able to successfully complete the password reset flow.
