What are QR Codes?
A new way to let your customers sign up and pay more easily by sharing a QR code with them in-person or displaying it in a physical location. It takes less than a minute for your customers to scan the QR code and fill in their details on the sign-up or payment page.
How can I use QR codes in the GoCardless Dashboard?
It’s easy to generate and download QR codes straight from the Invite Customer or Create Payments pages within the GoCardless dashboard, with no added steps to your usual workflow.
Here’s how:
To share a QR code with a new customer to sign them up with GoCardless:

From the dashboard homepage, click “Customers”

Click on “Invite customer”

Click “Download” and share the QR code with your customers (or print it and display it at a physical location)
To share a QR code with a new customer to take a payment:

From the dashboard homepage, click on “Create payment”

Click on “Subscription” or “One-off Payment”

Select “New Customer”

Fill in your payment details

Click “Create payment”

Click “Download” and share the QR code with your customers (or print it and display it at a physical location)
To share a QR code with a new customer and add them to an existing Subscription template:

From the dashboard homepage, click “Payments” in the left-hand menu

Go to “Subscription templates”

Click on the Subscription template you’re looking for

Click on “Invite customers”

Click “Download” and share the QR code with your customers (or print it and display it at a physical location)
What will my customer see?
When inviting a customer to sign up and / or collecting a Direct Debit payment (subscription or one-off), once your customer scans the QR code they will have to fill in a three-step form with their personal details and bank details.
When inviting a customer to sign up and / or collecting an Instant Payment, customers will have to scan the QR code and be redirected to fill in their personal details. From there, they’ll be redirected to their bank to complete the payment.

How do I share a QR code for an existing Subscription template with a customer?

If you’ve already created the payment, from the dashboard homepage navigate to “Subscription templates” at the bottom of the homepage to find your template

Click on the Subscription template name

Click on “Invite customer”

Download your QR code & share with your customers
If you can’t find the payment you’re looking for, try clicking on “View all” under “Subscription templates” from the homepage.
How do I share a QR code for a recent existing one-off payment with a customer?
- If you’ve already created the one-off payment, from the dashboard homepage navigate to “One-off payments” at the bottom of the homepage to find your payment
- Click on the payment amount
- Download your QR code & share with your customers
Can I use the same QR code multiple times?
Yes, you can share your QR code with multiple customers - the QR code will not change and keep accepting new customers / payments.
I want to print it - what is the resolution of the QR code?
The QR code is downloaded as a .png and is 72PPI and 1000 x 1315px
