Closing your account
Please be aware of the following information:

We can only close your account if you are no longer collecting payments. To help us close your account as quickly as possible, please ensure that all pending payments on your account have been cancelled and no new ones are created going forward.

Please note that closing your account will cancel all active mandates you have with your customers.

You will not be able to access your account once it has been closed. Should you require a copy of your payment history, please log in and export the information you need.

If you are on a paid package, our Support team will review your request and advise on the next steps. As invoices are generated at the end of each month, please expect to receive your final invoice after your account has been closed.
We're sorry to hear that you're looking to close your GoCardless account.
To close your account, an administrator of the account will need to go to your Company info settings, locate the Close Account section, and click the “Request Account Closure” button. Please note that account closures can only be requested by an administrator user of the GoCardless account. The Close Account section will not be visible to non-administrator users.
From there, the administrator will either be directed to complete our account closure form, or will be asked to provide details about the closure request directly within the dashboard.
If directed to the account closure form, the admin will receive an email upon completing the request which will confirm that the request has been received. Our Support team will respond within one working day and the admin will receive a confirmation email once the account is closed.
If asked to provide details directly within the dashboard, the admin and all active users will be logged out once the requester clicks on “Close my account”. All admins of the account will receive an email to confirm that we are processing the account closure. All admins will receive another email notification once the closure is completed.
Important:
In some cases, you may receive an email asking you to confirm that you submitted the account closure request.
The email will be sent to the email address you used to request the account closure. Please check your spam/junk folder and ensure that you can receive emails from no-reply@gocardless.com.
Please respond to this email as soon as possible so that the account closure can be processed
