Individuals/Sole traders

If you’re collecting payments as an individual (for example invoicing for freelance work, crowdfunding for a project through a crowdfunding partner, etc.), please follow these steps to verify your account.

1. Tell us about your company 

Even if you are an individual/sole trader collecting payments through GoCardless, you will need to fill out this section.

a) Select Individual/sole trader from the Business type dropdown

b) Select the country you are registered to trade in

c) Tell us exactly what you are collecting payments for under What does your business do?

d) Let us know your trading name under What is your trading name.

2. Verify your identity

We'll attempt to electronically verify your identity using the information your provide in this form, so please fill it out carefully. 

a) Enter your name, residential/home address and date of birth

b) Press the Continue button

3. Connect and verify your bank account

Once you have filled out these fields, you will then be guided through the onboarding steps including:

1. Connecting a bank account
2. Verifying your bank account
